Riassunto analitico
The COVID-19 pandemic caused a sudden change in the way education is delivered in schools, moving from traditional face-to-face lessons to remote lessons, thanks to the use of internet. Using existing literature and evidence from recent international data, this thesis examines empirically in 217 countries the relationship between Internet use and education, in particular expected years of schooling. I created a database comprising 217 countries and 26 years, from 1996 to 2020. I used GRETL software to examine the data and conduct my analysis. The empirical strategy is based on Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). Results show that, everything else given, there is a positive relationship between internet use and education.
