Abstract
The additive manufacturing technologies since many years are very interesting thanks to their exclusive benefits. In the last years the increase of accuracy and productivity of machines is leading them from a prototypal usage to a complete functional usage. However, processes are not perfectly repeatable and properties of parts are not homogeneous. In addition, the literature data are not enough to estimate narrowly mechanical properties that will be obtained and there aren’t specified standards that defines test methodologies for components additive manufactured. Consequently, standards for specimens realized by traditional technologies are used also for additive manufacturing parts.
The present script analyses the fatigue behaviour of an aluminium alloy AlSi10Mg, bonded by a powder bed fusion technique, the process is selective laser melting, following a statistic method. Subsequently, has been investigated the hardness field along the growth direction and along a transversal direction according to Brinell and Vickers tests. Lastly, the variation of density and hardness has been evaluated between specimens that have been tested for ten million cycles and material that have never been tested.
