Technology advancements over the past few decades brought countless benefits to both our personal and professional lives, businesses in particular have been able to leverage the vast amount of available data to provide innovative products and services which in many ways exceed our expectations. Most recently the global pandemic heavily accelerated our journey to the cloud powering a massive shift in our ways of working: LinkedIn’s analysts found that in April 2022, 13.4\% of all paid job listings on offered remote work, nearly doubling the 6.9\% rate of April 2021. Unfortunately benefits are not the only growing factor, as a matter of fact organizations from all over the world are experiencing an ever growing number of cyber attacks which has already more than doubled in the past 2 years\cite{2}, putting at great risk consumer data and requiring companies and researchers to come up with innovative solutions to protect our sensitive information. On these premises the purpose of this paper is to describe and end-to-end solution, leveraging the latest data science and cloud technologies, capable of detecting cyber-attacks on one of the key enablers of our new ways of working: Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
