In recent years, the reduction of vehicle emissions has been an important factor to mitigate the impact of the automotive industry on the climate. While many electric and hybrid vehicles are already available in the market, the tractor industry started to study these kind of solutions only recently. In this thesis, a rear PTO transmission model is created in Simulink-Simscape. This tool is used to study the vibrational behaviour of the transmission. In particular, the necessity of a torsional damper presence is evaluated in the case of electric and hybrid power sources. In order to derive all the configuration parameters for the model and their correlation, a series of field tests is performed. The model is then used to find the natural frequencies and vibrations of the transmission coupled with the specific implement. The same simulations are performed with and without the damper to highlight its beneficial effects. These evaluations, together with the data collected in the field tests are used to analyse the damper impact in different transmission configurations.
