Riassunto analitico
High accurate cataract surgery has generated the need of a technology integrated in the surgical microscope to guide IOL placement and verify refractive outcome during surgery. In previous devices for cataract surgery intraoperative aberrometry and OCT couldn’t be used together, because of the intrinsic differences in the optical and mechanical design. Our goal is to exploit a new approach which allow to merge both techniques in a single device, by proper optical simulation and design we developed a system able to combine both techniques on a surgical microscope. This kind of device uses a higher working distance (175mm), allowing proper room for the surgeon, and comes as an add-on module which can be mounted on several surgical microscopes. |
