Riassunto analitico
The Purpose of the current discussion is to present an efficient management system implemented in Volkswagen Group companies aimed at ensuring an optimized damaged parts flow inside the company. In order to give evidence of the implemented management systems, a benchamrk analysis has been carried out taking as reference the case of Bentley Motors Ltd. and Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, both companies belonging to Volkswagen Group. Reason of the benchmark analysis is to provide evidence of the advantages that Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. could obtain by implementing a similar management system, considering the consolidated experience within the VW Group on the same issue, as also the common phylosophy and business objectives of the whole Group. The project described in the current dissertation is carried out in the interests of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., a world-renowned manufacturer of supersport luxury cars. This thesis focuses on the benchmark analysis of the management system currently implemented in Lamborghini and other companies belonging to the Volkswagen Group, regarding the flow of damaged parts and components. The components could be damaged for several reasons, including damage due to the supplier, damage caused by the logistic flow or by the logistic concept behind the housing of the component itself and also damage caused by the line-operator mishandling. The benchmarking activity has also been validated with the presentation of quantitative and qualitative benefits evaluated by the companies that have implemented the new management system, in order to present positive suggestions for a possible future implementation in Lamborghini.
