Abstract
Redesign of a pedal board with the following requirements.
1. Reversing the brake pedal position with the accelerator. In the initial configuration, the accelerator pedal is in the center and the brake pedal is on the left.
2. Structure that ensures the replacement of the original pedalirea with the modified one during the sessions on the track.
3. Two pumps in parallel for the brake pedal operation, to ensure braking in case of a mechanical failure of one of them, considering that the braking line is single and cannot be modified.
4. Use of an additive manufacturing technology, because to make a single model of the foundry pedal would mean facing costs that could not be justified over time.
Tools used: Catia V5 (CAD), Marc Mentat (FEM) to simulate emergency braking condition and Materialise Magics (CAM) to simulate 3D printing using a metallic material.
