Thesis scope: the scope of this thesis is to analyze different aspect related to Make or Buy decisions, concentrating into different possible drivers and applying those principle to a real case study for Ferrari's company. Design/approach/methodology: the approach used was primarily focused on studying different theories about make or buy, understanding the potential and the limitations of each theory. In the second part those theory and analyses are used to develop a structured Make or Buy decision for Ferrari's company understanding if the possibility of reshoring the gearbox preparation is a good investment or not and the technical solution for the make option. Limitations: in literature there are only few theories related to make or buy and it is difficult to apply to each specific case, moreover the real case study considered represents a small part of the company' business and many consideration doesn't apply. Originality/value: the added values of this thesis are the possibility to see how the theoretical principles can be applied on a real scenario and merging all the different theory to only one model for make or buy.
