The rise of internet, automation, e-commerce, globalization has significantly changed the market landscape and brought with it a new breed of entrepreneurs, who want to address the market needs in a different way, which may be riskier for more mature companies, these are called start-ups. The main aim of the study is to understand the concept of start-up and how to make it successful in its lifecycle. The ecosystem with each part of it has great impact on its lifecycle and is essential in making the venture successful. In the paper we are trying to understand different phases of establishment and growth in a start-up’s journey, while looking at it from a case study from India. The case study is a young and growing startup operating in the domain of sanitary solutions. The theoretical framework studies several common theories and literature from an early start up perspective, representing different stages, along with need for start-ups and key reasons for success and failure helping everyone to view this on the life cycle canvas of a start-up. The main purpose is the fact that we are emphasizing the importance of analysing the company in a country perspective helping future start-ups to be able to plan and learn from the experience experiment. The study approaches the start-up development from a case study point of view and utilizes qualitative interview data as its primary source of analysis. Data is collected qualitatively through open and semi structured interview, which was conducted with the CEO and other management team members of the company. The thesis also focused on up-to-date information taken from public books, journals, and academic websites, so it could provide a useful theoretical frame to gain knowledge about start-ups. The study supports the views that start up is not always easy to succeed. In fact, people do not get what they expect when they get started. There is not one single factor which makes the start-up as successful/ unsuccessful. The proper combination of favourable factors helps in smooth sailing. There are some limitations that the research paper uses. The questionnaire data is provided only from the perspective of key executives from the company along with secondary sources. The research findings may have implications for the practicing managers, and this cannot be generalized.
