Abstract
This thesis contains three summaries (in French, English and Italian), the introduction, four chapters, the conclusion, the bibliography and the appendix. Its main theme is the concept of suggestion and its application both in hypnotherapy and in daily life. The purpose of this study is to present the effect of a suggestion on the human mind and to describe the tools by which it is able to penetrate it, as well as those with which such a suggestion can be seized and its effect mitigated.
To this end, Dr. Milton H. Erickson, a leading figure in the world of suggestion and hypnotherapy, was introduced. Then, the field of neuro-linguistic programming was described in order to conclude the theoretical part of this dissertation with a description of the processes underlying the Meta Model and the Milton Model.
Finally, the recording of the hypnotherapeutic session of Milton H. Erickson himself was attempted to be analysed, and it was concluded that despite the effect of vagueness in the hypnotherapist’s speech, it takes a great deal of experience and precision for the introduction in trance to take place.
