Artificial Intelligence is a powerful tool capable of tackling complex challenges because it can process and analyze vast amounts of data quickly and efficiently. AI is increasingly vital in solving complex healthcare challenges because it can bridge the gap between the increasing demand for healthcare services and the need to optimize available resources. The drive to adopt AI in healthcare stems from the necessity for efficient clinical data management, enhanced disease monitoring, and the creation of personalized treatments. This project applies statistical learning and deep learning methods to forecast COVID-19 data, namely case and death numbers, in four Italian regions, i.e., Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Lombardy, and Sardinia. The results demonstrate AI's significant potential in health crisis management and reveal that AI-driven models offer tangible benefits in supporting healthcare professionals and policymakers. By delivering accurate forecasts and insightful analyses, these models enable a proactive approach to disease management and resource allocation. This study offers insight into how AI could redefine healthcare, making it more adaptable and responsive to today's and tomorrow's challenges.
