The work presented in this thesis addresses the problem of evaluating, through analytical and numerical results, the accuracy of a decentralized solution for network synchronization and scheduling applicable to support the future Internet of Things. In the early future we are not just going to have connectivity anytime and any place for anyone but also connectivity for anything. The main benefit of the IoT are tied with making it easy to overcome the limits of myopic decisions in everyday life activities and services, by creating an ecosystem of data that relate to many interdependent human activities and processes, that can be used to compute socially optimum decisions.
