Abstract
The goal of my master thesis is to make the reader as clear as possible as "information", "information systems" and "information technology" that are concepts that may appear at first impact difficult and distant from everyday life but that interact with us at all times. Therefore, my aim is to make people understand the importance, too often underestimated, of these concepts both from an information and technology point of view, but above all from an economic and corporate point of view. The interest of the discussion is addressed to the strategic, economic and organizational advantages that companies can achieve through data, information and therefore information systems as a whole, thus managing to get the best out of the competitive context of reference . This information will be responsible for supporting the organization's decisions, planning objectives and responding immediately to the threats and opportunities deriving from the external environment, thus being able to read the competitive context first of all.
