The current study examines and explores the strategies of Chinese smartphone brands in telecommunication industry, historically and currently planned both local and international strategies in the telecommunication industry. In addition, the study covers the faced problematic areas throughout the implementation of strategies and recommend the respective solutions in order to eliminate and handle the problems and risks. In this respect, global Chinese smartphone producers named “Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.” (Hereinafter “Huawei”) and “Xiaomi Corporation” (hereinafter “Xiaomi”) (hereinafter together as “the Companies”) have been selected as a case companies for the purposes of study. For getting the conclusive outcomes and findings, I have formed the below listed research questions that lead me through the study: - How industry position affects the Companies in the short and long run? - How business strategy affects international position in the market? - What are the main problems in the historical position of the Companies? - What can be done in order to solve the problems faced during implementation of both local and international strategies? Referring broad range and comprehensive literature, I have tried to find out the factors, which affects to strategies in different types that the Companies follows. Based on results as per collected data, pricing as well as cost management including other economic factors such as fluctuations in demand, growth rate and other are the main factor which determines the Companies strategies.
