This dissertation thesis, linked to the internship at the “Tito Livio” scientific high school of Martina Franca (Taranto), has been developed on an educational path for fourth and fifth grades concerning environmental mineralogy. The purpose was to introduce to the students multitasking activities, linking to the class activities and scientific subjects, in order to stimulate their thinking level and interest for the topics. The treated issues are of current interest (mineral resources exploitation and environmental impact; ILVA firm and soil remediation; asbestos and health impact; etc.) and focus on environmental and social sustainability, in line with the 2030 Agenda goals. For this reason, the project has been included into social studies lessons linked with scientific subjects, in order to develop a multitasking dialogue between them and to create a real life contest. The teaching method has been inspired by the theories of integrate teaching and gamification of teaching. At the end of the project, in order to evaluate the teaching impact on the students and to receive a feedback, a survey has been proposed to the classes. This survey allowed to understand: i. if the teaching technique was effective; ii. if the issues were stimulating and interesting for the students; iii. if the students appreciated and understood the concepts. Ultimately, the project appears to have achieved the starting goals, that is to sensitize and educate students to environmental issues, which are crucial also from a social point of view. All this was possible thanks to a teaching method, the integrated teaching, able to produce a fruitful and conscious dialogue.
