Abstract
The thesis project focuses on the development and simulation of an agricultural axle steering system using three-dimensional software and simulation software. The objective is to create a tracking mechanism that follows the exact Ackermann geometry, to avoid tyre slippage. Ackermann's condition requires that the wheel inside the curve has a greater angle of rotation than the wheel outside the curve during steering, the centers of instantaneous rotation of the two front steered wheels must meet at a single point at the line connecting the centers of the rear non-steered wheels. In order to obtain different angles for the two front steered wheels, a gear with non-circular toothed wheels has been introduced, thus being able to guarantee variable transmission ratios according to the steering angles. |
