Abstract
The paperwork's main objective is to approach the topic of the consumption of films and series in the digital age. The behaviors of viewers changed once they acquired the ability to interact with other users online and this meant that the audience became both bigger and considerably heterogeneous. At the same time, it was possible to synchronize the audience at the level of the film / serial product, as the sharing and freedom of expression of opinions and online viewing experiences created the opportunity to be continuously updated on the new audio and visual releases. Platforms like Netflix have been part of this global democratization of the access to a list of movies and series presented internationally, up to the point of creating movie-events in the online space.
It is interesting to observe the dynamic of the globalization of the film product in the digital sphere, looking at specific cases such as that of Eastern Europe countries, in which the economic difficulties of certain regions have not stopped users from paying monthly subscriptions offered by platforms such as Netflix or Spotify in the music and podcast field.
To understand the consumer of today's audiovisual products, the paperwork questions as well what are the characteristics of the "connected viewers" - connected to devices for the possibility of viewing, and connected to each other as online interaction is an element on which today's society strongly relies.
