Abstract
Firstly, this thesis presents the main characteristics of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), an innovative integrated system used by companies to achieve connectivity between the different stages of the supply chain through a software architecture that facilitates the exchange of information between the various organizational units. The ERP system is the result of the development of the pre-existing Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II) system, as ERP allows the integration of administrative, financial and personnel areas by creating a common database with real-time updated data, avoiding redundancy and errors. Subsequently, a case study is analyzed, which illustrates the methods and phases of implementing an ERP system in Elettrondata S.r.l, a company that deals with control and automation systems for concrete. In the last chapter, it is evident how the ERP software, once implemented, can provide valuable assistance for communication and correlation between different business functions, promoting and accelerating the transfer of information, avoiding waste of time and resources.
