A crucial aspect in optimizing the operation of an electric motor can be attributed to its cooling system. Over the years, various cooling strategies have been implemented to reduce the stator's temperature. However, maintaining the rotor's temperature under control is equally important.
The purpose of the present project is to investigate convective heat transfer in pipes rotating at high speeds. The concept entails allowing water to flow through the shaft to dissipate heat from the rotor.
