The development in infrastructure and transportation facilities have enabled the course of development in both international and domestic tourism. The land of diversity with its own traditional cultures and heritage always gives a wonderful experience for the visitors. During the past few years there was a revolutionary change in the usage of internet inside the country which further enhance the possibilities of tourism in India into greater extents. More and more ways of advertisements are out there now to proclaim the greatness of the country and its diverse cultures and hereditary to the world-wide audience. Even the local governing bodies, the state and central tourism departments are also exploiting the endless possibilities of internet in the area of tourism development. In such a promising scenario, there comes the importance of the application of Big Data and Data Science. In fact, the term Big Data is not new to us. We have been enduring in various other online facilities and platforms by implementing the same. The large pool of data that can be collected from the global population can be used to enhance the area of tourism to a greater extent, by mining the reviews, language processing tools, aspect opinion mining, etc. Thus, we will be targeting in this research to understand (1) the possibilities in tourism in India (2) The importance of big data in Tourism in India (3) The possibilities of Data mining and Processing tools in the same. Based on the sentimental opinions, review mining etc. it is easy to identify the interest of an individual which is the back bone of the recommendation pattern produced by various E-commerce services to their customers these days. The similar technique can be executed for individuals who are looking for travel destination, hotels, restaurants etc. In the present situations tourism refers only to the destinations or some places rather than broadening into a combined set of destinations, places, delicacies and others. By introducing Big Data into the picture, this can be achieved and thus make a greater and sustainable leap in Indian Tourism.
