Abstract
The goal of this study is to express a theoretical model of a heat dissipation system starting from the basic thermodynamic relations. Then, by extention, the creation of a MATLAB model that could represent the behaviour of a thermal exchanger in a cogeneration system. The analysis will then be tested and validated by a eld data collection. After conrming the genuinity of the model, it will be presented a collection of Model Predictive Control algorithms that could replace the existing control technology (PID Control) by both improving the stability of the system and minimizing the operational cost. A commercial PLC will be used to code the solution and evaluate the feasibility of the implementation.
