Subsequent to this, the area of ticket pricing for live entertainment events was deeply investigated from an economic, regulatory and moral point of view. Particular attention was paid to the concept of resale, linked to its negative drift towards the “secondary ticketing” phenomenon: “Le Iene-case” was specifically used to highlight in a clearer way the negative consequences of this practice. Finally, the main parts of the speeches held by the main stakeholders in the music industry at the 1st international conference against secondary ticketing were reported, as well as other model strategies and innovations to react to these changes.

Abstract
Music industry is going through a period of great changes and innovations. Online streaming services are progressively becoming the main way to listen to music at the expense of record sales, which no more represent the core of artists’ activity. At the same time, live concerts are becoming the real source of income for them: in fact, now more than ever artists are playing live to promote their music. The aim of this study was to describe the main discontinuity points with the past regarding music business, such as the actual main players in the sector, how royalties are split among them and the real impact of the so-called “freemium services”, taking into account “the U2-case”.
