The aim of this thesis is to examine how small and medium-sized retailers in the city of L'Aquila were able to react in the face of two major natural disasters: the earthquake of 2009, which severely affected the city and local businesses, and subsequently the Covid-19 pandemic. In particular, the phenomenon of resilience was examined, specifically from the point of view of the entrepreneur and commercial activities, and then the recovery process, which interested the period following the disasters. The research data were collected in the L'Aquila city, through the administration of a questionnaire to small and medium-sized retailers who suffered the two events.
