Abstract
The ability to measure inline during continual production is fundamental for achieving both quality products and efficient production. On the one side indeed such measuring system allows to enhance the quality of product provided to customer, on the other hand the high investment will pay for itself when it comes to reducing off-standard rework for reaching the desired quality target.
The aim of this dissertation is therefore to investigate possible measurement systems solutions, in order to choose the optimal one for the Lamborghini Case Study, and then to explain the system implementation. In this latter phase a control plan will be realized, focusing on what to measure and on the metrological strategies for extracting such features. The output of these steps is a summarising control plan, to display directly in the assembly line for allowing post control reworks.
Secondly there is a data analysis stage, first with a punctual and then with a statistical approach. In the former one we proceed throw a comparison between ten BiW, measured with hand gauge and with the automated cell, while in the latter one a statistical control card is realized.
