This thesis deals with the validation procedure of the vehicle components used in Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A., how it is managed today and how it can be used and standardized to increase its efficiency and the spread of know-how within the company. This procedure is the basis for the development of a new product as it is aimed at the certification of a technical approval and a supply one. The work focuses on the analysis of the production processes of two main components within a motorcycle: cast aluminum wheels and steel trellis frames. This analysis was carried out in order to highlight the critical issues lately found in these products, with the aim of preventing them in the future by structuring the validation process through the component test datasheet called SPC, from the Italian “Scheda Prova Componente”. Finally, a critical analysis of the tests to be carried out on the aforementioned components was also presented, even taking into account historical and modern practices. To analyze these topics in detail, it was first necessary to briefly describe the company structure and the product development process, as well as the activities of the various authorities involved.
