Observing global trends of the most important economics, is it possible to affirm that globalization and the internationalization are getting more and more importance in shaping the world economy. This writing aims at exploring the motives of internationalization and the reason behind it, its process for businesses, the main problems firms need to overcome the mains strategies to adopt and the main managerial practices that ensure a smooth internationalization. This will be seen through the lens of the biggest democracy and possibly the future most important economy: India, a country that achieved notable results in the last 25 years. Since the reforms’ revolution of 1990s, growth of the country has been more stable, with a modern and globally integrated economy, with an average population better educated and with a longer life. In the first chapter of this writing will be shown each aspect of the Indian country, from the main information about the population and its geography, to its tradition and religion, its infrastructure situation, the languages, and its education system. Then would be analyzed the current economical situation through the main sectors, the latest reforms and its commercial trade in the world. Then, the second chapter will focus on the ease of doing business in the county. This topic will be developed through the business index created by the world bank and the latest initiative promoted by the government such as Make in India. Other important aspects in the chapter will be the business culture that characterize the country and the legal aspect regarding contracts as negotiation phase then specific types of contract will be discussed such as foreign agreement contract and outsourcing contract. It will follow a general framework of foreign investment in India with the available route to invest. The end of the chapter will summarize the opportunities and the threats of the country allowing to understand if it is a market where companies need to focus or not. The third chapter will introduce the definition of the globalization, a phenomenon that inevitably changed every aspect of our life, along with its main actors: the multinational corporation. Then one of the most discussed theoretical model of internalization for enterprises is discussed, and the main internationalization strategy will be exposed. The last chapter of this paper is a practical example of internationalization through the joint venture strategy in the tiles industries, between Italy and India.
