La tesi tocca il tema dell'emigrazione e della cittadinanza attraverso 3 capitoli.
Il primo riguarda la rilevanza giuridica della nozione di cittadinanza e dell'evoluzione del termine, concentrandosi in particolare sulla differenza tra le parole "cittadinanza" e "nazionalità". Si conclude trattando modelli precedenti come il "Trattato di Maastricht" e il "Trattato di Lisbona"
Il secondo capitolo è basato sul tema di questa tesi che analizza i modi che portano all'acquisizione e alla perdita della cittadinanza; diritti e doveri dei cittadini sia in Italia che nell'Unione europea.
L'ultimo capitolo riguarda "Giurisprudenza e cittadinanza": incontro con casi pratici.

The thesis touches the topic of the emigration and citizenship through 3 chapters. The first deals with the juridical relevance of the notion of citizenship and of the evolution of the term by focusing particularly on the difference between the words "citizenship" and "nationality". It is concluded by treating previous models such as the "Treaty of Maastricht" and the "Treaty of Lisbon" The second chapter is based on the theme of this thesis analyzing the ways which bring to the acquisition and loss of citizenship; rights and duties of citizens both in Italy and in the European Union. The last chapter deals with "Jurisprudence and Citizenship": meeting with practical cases.
