Riassunto analitico
Il mio lavoro di tesi è concentrato principalmente sull’analisi di due traduzioni italiane del romanzo francese L’Educazione sentimentale di Gustave Flaubert pubblicato nel 1869.
Le traduzioni italiane scelte sono di Giovanni Raboni e di Yasmina Melaouah. La prima risale al 1966 e la seconda è la più recente traduzione italiana del romanzo in quanto è stata pubblicata a gennaio 2024.
Il primo capitolo è un capitolo teorico che vuole fornire al lettore un’idea generale su cosa significhi ritradurre e soprattutto ritradurre i grandi classici della letteratura. Il capitolo fornirà anche collegamenti con il lavoro di altri traduttori come Franca Cavagnoli e Ilide Carmignani.
Il secondo capitolo, invece, comincia ad entrare nel tema specifico della mia tesi e fornisce una panoramica su Gustave Flaubert, su L’Educazione sentimentale e sul profilo dei due traduttori analizzati.
Il terzo capitolo è l’analisi vera e propria dell’opera. I capitoli scelti sono i primi tre della Prima Parte e una parte del primo capitolo della Seconda Parte de L’Educazione sentimentale. Nello specifico, per ogni capitolo, il primo corpus prende alcune parti del discorso francesi che creano qualche difficoltà e analizza come sono tradotte in italiano. Gli elementi linguistici scelti sono on, dont, c’est e bien. Il secondo corpus invece prevede l’analisi lessicale delle principali espressioni linguistiche del capitolo.
La conclusione fornisce quindi una riflessione finale sul lavoro svolto.

Abstract
My thesis work mainly focus on the analysis of two Italian translations of Gustave Flaubert’s French novel L'Éducation sentimentale published in 1869.
Giovanni Raboni’s translation and Yasmina Melaouah’s one are the translations analysed. The first dates back to 1966 and the second is the most recent Italian translation of the novel as it was published in January 2024.
The first chapter, is a theoretical chapter that aims to provide the reader with a general idea of what it means to translate and especially to retranslate the great classics of literature. The chapter will also provide links to the work of other translators such as Franca Cavagnoli and Ilide Carmignani.
The second chapter, on the other hand, begins to get into the specific subject of my thesis and provides an overview of Gustave Flaubert, of L’Éducation sentimentale and the profile of the two translators analysed.
The third chapter is the actual analysis of the work. The chapters chosen are the first three of Part I and part of the first chapter of Part II of L’Éducation sentimentale. Specifically, for each chapter, the first corpus takes some French parts of speech that create some difficulties and analyses how they are translated into Italian. The linguistic elements chosen are on, dont, c'est and bien. The second corpus instead provides lexical analysis of the main linguistic expressions of the chapter.
The conclusion thus provides a final reflection on the work done.
