Tractors are fundamentals in modern agricolture. Their main feature is to deliver high torque values at low speeds though allowing to compute the most various operations and the most different types of works in an appropriate manner; among the task tractors are capable to do one of the most intriguing is certainly the possibility to transmit mechanical power to the connected gear using the Power take
Off System (PTO).
It is very important that each task is carried out maximizing the efficiency and minimizing losses, nevertheless the Tractor must stay on during all work time, meaning that it cannot turn off the engine
otherwise (e.g. on a hill) it could cause problems. This means that its transmission must deliver continuously the torque generated by the engine to wheels; to solve this task some types of transmission
have been produced.
One of the latest transmissions produced by CNH is the
CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), in which the continuous transmission of the torque produced by the engine is permitted mostly because of the Hydrostatic unit. From the driver's side its simplicity permits to reach different speeds also using fixed engine rpm and thus allowing different types of tasks and works.
