Riassunto analitico
Il presente lavoro di tesi si focalizza sulle tematiche del dolore e della violenza contro la donna e contro l’ambiente, due temi di tragica attualità. Le notizie di cronaca, sia di crimini contro la donna sia di sfruttamento selvaggio e indiscriminato della Terra e delle sue risorse, registrano spesso un aumento della loro frequenza e gravità, e ci inviano messaggi poco incoraggianti per il futuro. Il lavoro in oggetto vuole analizzare e confrontare alcune opere, di tipo cinematografico, letterario e saggistico, che hanno come oggetto i temi suddetti e che propongono esempi di azioni concrete e critiche per adottare un atteggiamento controcorrente in questo incerto clima attuale. Il primo capitolo pone l’attenzione sul più recente film di Martin Scorsese, Killers of the Flower Moon (2023), basato sul testo saggistico del giornalista americano David Grann. Il focus della seconda sezione dell’elaborato è rivolto al mondo della letteratura e della saggistica, principalmente ispano-americano, che affrontano casi di violenza contro la donna e contro l’ambiente. Successivamente, viene dato spazio alle opere dell’autrice messicana Cristina Rivera Garza e ad altri testi che, negli ultimi decenni, hanno suscitato un maggiore interesse sulla figura femminile e sulla devastazione del pianeta Terra. Le considerazioni conclusive, che riassumono il lavoro di analisi e di confronto svolto sulle fonti, vogliono aiutare a comprendere quanto sia importante che la collettività assuma una posizione e una prospettiva critiche e consapevoli di questioni che, in maniera sempre più evidente, caratterizzano le società di tutto il mondo. Fruire in modo oggettivo e consapevole di film e opere letterarie che cercano di contrastare lo status quo, è un’azione che auspica una piena consapevolezza e un riconoscimento del diritto alla vita per tutti gli esseri umani. L’obiettivo di ogni tipo di scrittura è quello di rappresentare la realtà, il più fedelmente possibile, per poter riconoscere ed eliminare ogni tipo di crudeltà e oppressione.

Abstract
This thesis focuses on grief and violence towards women and the environment, two themes that are tragically present in our daily life. News, concerning both crimes perpetrated against females and the indiscriminate exploitation of the Earth and its resources, often register events that are characterised by an increase in their frequency and seriousness. As a consequence, this situation conveys us messages that are not particularly encouraging for the future. This paper aims to analyse and compare some cinematographic and literary works and essays regarding the aforementioned questions, which suggest concrete and critical examples in order to try to buck the current uncertain trend. The first chapter draws the attention to Martin Scorsese’s latest film, Killers of the Flower Moon (2023), based on the essay written by the American journalist David Grann. The second section concentrates on literature and literary essays, which belong mainly to the Hispano-American outline and that deal with examples of violence against women and the environment. Afterwards, the thesis gives prominence to different works by the Mexican author Cristina Rivera Garza and to other texts that, in the last decades, have aroused interest in the female figure and in the devastation of the Earth. Some final observations summarize the analysis and the comparison realized by means of dissimilar sources. Furthermore, this part intends to make us understand how important it is for the general public to act and think in a critical and conscious way with regard to issues that frequently characterise every society around the world. To watch a movie and to read literary texts that try to oppose the status quo is an action that hopes for a complete awareness and an acknowledgment of the right to life for every human being. The aim of all types of writing is to represent reality, as faithfully as possible, so as to recognise and eliminate any kind of cruelty and oppression.
